Therapist spotlight: Mike Bennett

We are very proud to announce that Mike Bennett, CD and Physiotherapist from Lifemark Pine Valley (Woodbridge) has been named to the the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) physiotherapy team that will be providing services to the athletes participating.
NAIG are a multi-sport, multi-disciplinary event involving Indigenous youth from Canada and the United States, between the ages of 13-19. The Games offer 14 sport competitions in addition to a vibrant cultural program, showcasing Indigenous cultural artists and performers from across North America.It is the largest continental sporting and cultural gathering of Indigenous people, welcoming more than 5,000 athletes, 2,000 volunteers and a countless number of spectators and dignitaries from across Turtle Island.

Mike is a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. He obtained his Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Alberta in 2008. 

Since graduating, he has worked with Lifemark in both Alberta and Ontario and is currently the clinic director at the Woodbridge location. In 2012, he travelled to Australia to obtain his Certificate of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. While in Australia, he worked in a rural hospital setting providing inpatient care.

Mike has received training in treatment of cancer rehab, vestibular therapy, temporo-mandibular joint, concussions and is certified to do acupuncture through Acupuncture Canada. Mike is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and Vestibular Disorders Association.

He has previously worked with an Australian rules football team, Tim Horton’s brier and the medical team at the Pan Am Games.
