Stephen earned a Master degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2016. Prior to this, he graduated with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary in 2014.
Positive physiotherapy experiences Stephen had through various hockey injuries and a genuine desire to help people fueled him to become a physiotherapist.
Stephen enjoys working with a wide variety of populations, ranging from adolescent to geriatric patients. He has worked with patients with many conditions, including: musculoskeletal injuries/impairments, neuromuscular conditions, vertigo, obesity, chronic pain, and issues associated with aging. He believes strongly in manual therapy, individualized exercise prescription, and educating patients to give them the tools they need to succeed after therapy has concluded. Stephen values patient-centered, individualized care and believes a strong professional relationship is a key to optimize the rehabilitation environment.
Stephen grew up playing high-level sports, including hockey, in which he played two years with the Calgary Midget AAA North Stars. In his spare time, Stephen enjoys running, watching and playing hockey, golfing, playing tennis and baseball, hiking, reading, and improving his music collection.
